The only way I've been able to get passed this part is to use steam to check my files and it will install the original files. Many people, including myself, experience this issue and the author is aware of it. The major issue with the mod is that there is an elevator on the planet Feros that you will inevitably crash on.
If you check the mod page it will tell you to rename a few files, so check there because that will reduce the amount of times you get this error but won't get rid of it. As far as I know, the author of MEUITM is aware of this issue and is working on it.
